EBay, Amazon, and Alibaba are depended upon information systems to control business operations and connect with customers. Several multinational companies and other business organizations are using an internal server to manage the business operation and sales of the product. In this given case study, Maxis Berhad, a telecommunication company in Malaysia is using an executive information system to track all detailed information in their inventory management system.

In the year, 1990 information technology is expanding throughout the world and business organizations are using data tracking technology to improve their business operation and effective connection with customers. Information is collected with the help of the internet. In addition, web and provided all information to the customers. Telecommunication sector, e-commerce section, is using information technology to enhance their business.

ANALYZING THE EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM (EIS) AND ITS IMPORTANCE

An inventory management System is a software that is transferring data very quickly to the users and users can access account management, and billing with help of an executive information system. An executive support system is a component of an executive information system and it helps to enhance this system. External database and management reports are prepared in the executive information system.

EII software and BII software are used in the EIS system to store the data and provide the data to the users. The higher authority of any organization is using this EIS software system to monitor the performance of employees, and monitors workflow of that organization.

In this assignment, the chosen organization is Maxis Berhad is operating and monitoring its inventory management system with help of an executive information system. An inventory management system is a tracking system that can help to track the work progress and employee performance. In this EIS system, the importance is described in the given below:

  • The hierarchy of an organization that helps making decisions uses executive information. In addition, there is no need for external knowledge of computers.

  • Inventory management System has the capability to enhance the decision-making skill of a manager and analysis the recent market trends.
  • As opinionated by the “Mathews and Shoe Bridge”, method it has been stated that computer-based information conveys the top hierarchy of any organization and top authorities can monitor all performance of employees.
  • EIS is playing an important role in an organization as it stores all information related to market in its database and transfers the data to the Hierarchy of an organization.

EIS helps to access all information about the company such as accounts, billing, expenditure, and so on to executives. Higher authority of Maxis Bhd can analyze the recent trend of the market with help of an executive information system. In this information time, significance of the recent trend’s data is included and higher authorities can access all available information with help of an executive information system.

In modern business, era time is very essential for any organization, therefore, every organization uses an executive information system to save time. Employees can access an ample number of data in a short time with help of an executive information system.

BUSINESS PROCESS FACILITATION WITH EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM (EIS)

Inventory management System” is providing all the important data and employees can easily access the data. Human resource department plays an essential role in managing all employee detailed information and accounts with help of ESI. Maxis is giving the salary of its employee with help of the “executive information system” as there all detailed information is stored in database and it can easily be accessed by the human resource department in a very short time.

Customer’s relationship:

Maxis Berhad is directly connected with customers and communicates with the customers with help of ESI in a very short time. This company is using the web application and phone application to connect with the customers and customers can easily access this web application and connects with the company.

MANAGEMENT DECISION-MAKING USING EXECUTIVE INFORMATION SYSTEM (EIS)

A process that is storing the data in a database, access the data and identifying the choices is included in the decision-making and EIS helps to do this kind of job. EIS is storing data in their database and managers can easily access data from the database and makes their decision according to this data report.  Maxis Berhad is using the executive information system to make the decision.

In this company, “the board of directors” organized a virtual meeting with help of ESI. Due to effective communication between the board members, decision-making process is developed.

Decision-making is a process that creates proper guidelines for all employees. In addition, this has established a rule and regulations for all employees as well as organizations. In Maxis Berhad, board members are establishing a proper guideline for all employees with an “executive information system” as this organization can track all information in inventory, and according to work progress of inventory, the CEO of this company is making an appropriate decision for the workflow.

According to maxis official website, the decision is taken by the board members with help of the EIS as this information system is very flexible to run and can be easily accessed. Available action is chosen Leave application software system and customer relation system run according to the “executive information system”. The vision of Maxis is to come together with help of informational technology and wanted to provide an effective service to the customers. As a result of this, an effective decision-making leader is recommended for example; Gokhan Ogut CEO of this company is making his decision with help of an “executive information system”.

CONCLUSION

It can be concluded that Maxis Berhad is a telecommunication organization and this organization is using an “executive information system” to enhance its business and monitors its inventory management system. Inventory management team can track all work processes in the inventory according to the work process decision being made by the inventory management team. In this assignment, Maxis Berhad is monitoring and controlling the accounts, and payroll system, communicating with the customer, and taking the expenditure bills with help of “executive information system”.  The impact of ESI is discussed in this assignment such as efficiency and accuracy of a workflow of this organization should be calculated in this process.ESI is transferring the information in a very short time and access to data is very easy. Therefore it can be said that Maxis Berhad is implementing the “executive information system” in their business process and it helps the organization to improve its business process.
